This project is always a challenge, the user experience inside the vehicle can take very different forms, the meaning of the vehicle itself is changing, it is no longer just a means of travel, but becomes a personal space, a time of sharing. Working on this project certainly means keeping the reflection on user needs alive, being able to include them directly in the discussion, through user tests conducted on a driving simulator.
Making interactive digital prototypes of control interfaces for in-vehicle systems from scretch. The final prototypes must be integrated into the simulation system, so through Protopie Connect they are connected to Arduino. For example, the integration allows different options to be validated during test sessions.
Interior Lighting Prototyping
A current issue in the automotive world concerns wellness. In the study of how the interior lighting environment can influence the user experience, for example as a passenger during moments of relaxation, the main phases involve sicentific research, conceptualization, creation of digital prototypes to concretize the ideas, and then realization through TouchDesigner of the desired effects.
User Testing
The creation of protocols for testing with users is crucial because it determines the definition of the objectives, the collection methods to be used, but also the functionalities and fidelity to the reality of the prototypes.
The multidisciplinary approach of the research lab allows for different methods, both qualitative and quantitative, and integrates data extracted directly from users, with biometric data. This integration makes it possible to take a deeper snapshot of the experience, having insight not only into the perception of what is happening, but also what on a more hidden level is happening.

Main Challenges
Common Language
One of the biggest challenges, but one that also represented the greatest satisfaction, was learning the "language" of my colleagues in charge of virtual and physical prototyping and those specializing in data analysis.
This was fundamental to the creation of artifacts and test protocols that were fuctional.
New Frontiers
Managing such a project also means having to deal with different kinds of challenges. Prototyping that combines physical and virtual worlds requires flexibility. This has led me to be confronted with new software, such as TouchDesigner, for creating lighting scenarios.
